By Snyder Sarno D'Aniello Maceri & da Costa LLC on January 12, 2022
The Supreme Court of New Jersey has recently appointed Partner, Paul M. da Costa, to the Civil Trial Certification Committee. He will serve a three-year term, concluding on December 31, 2024.
The New Jersey Supreme Court established the Board on Attorney Certification in 1980 to help consumers find an attorney with specialized competence in a particular area of law. The Board designates lawyers from New Jersey as "Certified Attorneys" if they demonstrate sufficient levels of experience, education, knowledge, and skill in one of five areas of law. More information is available regarding the selection criteria on the NJ Supreme Court Website.
As a member of the Civil Certification Committee, Paul will contribute to the evaluation of applicants seeking certification as a civil trial attorney. He will be involved with the creation and grading of exams administered by the Board as part of the certification process. These exams are determining factors in whether an attorney becomes certified.
Paul da Costa, himself, is a New Jersey Supreme Court certified civil trial attorney with years of experience representing clients in medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, and personal injury matters. As a Partner at SSDMd, Paul has helped recover millions in compensation for victims and their families. He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Paul regularly handles high-profile cases, some of which were covered by various media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Bergen Record, Star-Ledger, NBC News NY, CBS NY, NJTV, NJ12, The Guardian, Huffington Post, and Vice News.
