On November 5th, Paul M. da Costa will discuss some of the many significant developments in medical malpractice law in the past year. Paul will be among those legal professionals speaking at the 20th Annual Medical Malpractice Update. The program, which is presented by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE) and the New Jersey State Bar Association Medical Malpractice Special Committee, will discuss a number of timely topics, including “Trial by iPad: Helpful Hints on Using Computers at Trial” and “Can Doctors Provide the Standard of Care for Nurses—What is the Latest?” Paul will discuss “The Effect of ObamaCare on Life Care Plans.”
This “information-packed” seminar, which offers both plaintiff and defense viewpoints, is geared toward attorneys of every level practicing in the areas of medical malpractice and complex personal injury. In one morning, the program aims to familiarize attendees with recent cases that could affect preparation for and handling of medical malpractice trials. The speakers also provide practical advice, and address how to deal with complex issues that often come up in cases.
Paul is a certified civil trial attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey who dedicates his practice to medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury cases. The types of cases Paul has handled include wrongful death suits, birth trauma suits, failure to diagnose cancer cases, lack of informed consent cases, and general medical negligence actions.
The 20th Annual Medical Malpractice Update will take place Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.
