Vanessa Martinez, Associate
Vanessa Martinez joined Snyder Sarno D'Aniello Maceri & Da Costa LLC in September 2018. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Martinez served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Lourdes I. Santiago, J.S.C, Family Division, Hudson County, NJ from August 2017 to August 2018. Ms. Martinez earned her Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School-Newark in 2017. Ms. Martinez was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 2017.
As a law clerk, Ms. Martinez handled matters involving Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP formerly know as DYFS), non-dissolution, domestic violence, and adoptions. Additionally, Ms. Martinez was certified by the New Jersey Administrative Offices of the Courts as a court mediator and she conducted meditations in non-dissolution matters during her clerkship.
At Rutgers Law School, Ms. Martinez was a member of the Minority Student Program and Association of Latin American Law Students. Additionally, Ms. Martinez was an editor for the Rutgers Race and The Law Review where her note Family Detention: Why the Decision in R.I.L.R v. Johnson Fails to Address the Consequences of Family Detention and the Need to Seek Alternatives was published in 2017. Lastly, Ms. Martinez was a clinic law student in the Community and Transactional Lawyering Clinic where she provided corporate, real estate, and other transactional legal services to New Jersey nonprofit corporations, start-up for profit businesses, emerging entrepreneurs, and charter schools.
Ms. Martinez earned her undergraduate degree at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, where she received a bachelor of science degree in Political Science and Public Health. She was also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity.
Ms. Martinez is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and Hispanic Bar Association of NJ. Ms. Martinez is fluent in Spanish.
